Hranfossar and Barnafoss

Hranfossar is an interesting waterfall. Rather than cascading from a sheer rock face, the water gushes out, between two layers of lava rock, giving it the distinct appearance. Just upstream from Hranfossar is Barnafoss, with a melting glacier as its source. The colour of the water appears grey, this is due to the dust an ashes that has accumulated within the glacial ice.
