DSC_1689-1In our excitement of seeing the Northern Lights once again, I had unfortunately missed focus on this photo, but it captured the magic of the moment regardless. It was a wonderful evening.

  1. Slightly defocusing an image of stars will make their color more apparent. Some photographers use this technique to exaggerate certain stellar features. For example — defocusing an image of Betelgeuse will make it appear more orange (compared to a focused image).

    So, not only did you capture a nice moment, you serendipitously used a viable technique!
