Day 5: Monochrome Aurora?

For the last entry of the 5-day monochrome photo challenge, I would like to share with you one of my favourite natural phenomena on Earth– Aurora Borealis

I was slightly apprehensive at first, because the Northern Lights are famous for their other-worldly colours, and to present it in a monochrome fashion, I thought that it might lose some of its essence. However, the result was rather interesting!

For my last day, I would like to extend an invitation to Basil and Cheryl of TwoBrownFeet.com

Join our fun-loving and well travelled couple, as they share with us their adventures and enthusiasm for exploration!

There are only two rules of participation:

1. On 5 consecutive days, create a post using a recent or past photo in black and white.

2. Each day, invite another blogger friend to join in on the fun.

Enjoy!

  1. Interesting concept — it’s creepy that the snow is the same hue as the aurora. Reminds me of something you would see in The Twilight Zone!

As for the monochrome challenge — I hope it’s alright that I extended my invitation to the open public. I don’t follow many photographers, so it would be difficult for me to give a proper invitation.

  2. Monochrome aurora, a bold choice I thought when I read the heading, but I was positively surprised! I think the picture is stunning in black and white, something I had not expected! Well done!
